Hello everyone! If any of you are avid social media users and love movies too, this week's post is perfect for you. I'll be sharing some of my favorite ways in which films have become a part of my media platforms so that, if you wish, you can incorporate them into your virtual experience.
1. Instagram
I'm a very big fan of many big movie franchises, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. The great thing about social media is that it allows the studios or producers who worked on these films to connect with their audience.
Marvel, for example, has created an account to give their followers content on their new projects, behind-the-scenes material, and fun facts about their characters or films. They use their stories to create fun polls for users and gain understanding of what their audience wants.
Star Wars created something similar, using Instagram. They usually post movie clips, promote events or products, and share engaging facts.
I highly recommend following accounts like these, in my experience it has been very enjoyable, it makes you feel like you're part of a community, and if you interact and share opinions you may even influence the outcome of their future work.
2. Twitter
Twitter is a great source for information about upcoming projects or prominent people in the
film world. One of my favorite accounts is @discussingfilm who also have their own website. They usually provide news before anyone else and they're very reliable. I also love that it is a very safe space for film discussion. They always give the information to their followers, but never their opinion, which helps their audience form their own thoughts and have an honest conversation with each other.
The great thing is Twitter allows you to turn on your notifications for certain accounts, which I did for Film Discussion. This means every time they post a new update on the film world I instantly get a notification.
3. YouTube
'Heavy Spoilers' is definitely one of the best YouTube channels for film enthusiasts. Of course, as you can tell by their name, it's better to avoid their videos if you don't like spoilers. The great thing about their page is that they don't only focus on reviews like most people do. They share very interesting content varying from breakdowns, reviews, spoilers, explanations, updates, and theories. I usually visit this channel for the theories and to watch their explanations on movie endings that I had trouble understanding.
Chris Stuckmann Videos
If you're looking for very honest and simple reviews, Chris Stuckmann's YouTube channel is perfect for it. His videos are usually shorter than 10 minutes and give you a very good idea of what to expect from a movie.
If you choose to follow or subscribe to any of these accounts I hope you really enjoy them. You can also comment which film profiles you follow on social media that you think I might like. See you again next week!
